Marcella Hazan Ingredienti

For cooks around the world, Marcella Hazan’s “Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking” was their introduction to Italian cooking.  Marcella Hazan Ingredienti is her beautiful posthumous farewell.

Hazan left her husband and collaborator Victor a collection of handwritten notebooks about her favourite ingredients. Victor translated those notes and made them into the simple and elegant Marcella Hazan Ingredienti.

Working off the premise that you have to know how to shop before you can cook, Hazan hands out advice on how to choose vegetables, pasta, olive oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano, prosciutto, and all of the key elements of classic Italian meals.

Based on sixty years of almost daily visits to the market to choose the ingredients of that day’s meal, Ingredienti is a life’s work of the Godmother of Italian cooking, distilled.
