According to a new study, adding a spoonful of canola oil to your smoothie might be the ticket to getting rid of pesky tummy fat – in as little as four weeks.
Canola oil has less saturated fat than olive oil and contains monounsaturated fats that target stubborn abdominal fat.
The study tested the effect of five different vegetable oil blends on abdominal obesity with participants consuming two oil-infused smoothies daily.
The participants who drank the smoothie with conventional or high-oleic acid canola oil had a quarter pound less belly fat one month later. The best part? The lost tummy weight did not redistribute elsewhere on the body.
