Conner Joseph says even though they were a “little late to hop on the takeout train,” the carry-home kits have become a popular choice for last call now that bars in British Columbia must cut off sales at 10 p.m.
INGREDIENTS
- 45 ml (11⁄2 oz) reposado Tequila
- 15 ml (1⁄2 oz) Campari
- 20ml (2⁄3oz) grapefruit juice
- 10 ml (1⁄3 oz) lime juice
- 15 ml (1⁄2 oz) smoked tea syrup*
METHOD
Combine all ingredients in shaker with lots of ice. Shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
*Smoked Tea Syrup
- 25 ml (11⁄2 tbsp) Lapsang souchong tea leaves
- 250 ml (1 cup) hot water
- 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
Steep tea leaves in hot water for 10 minutes. Strain leaves. Add sugar to the tea and stir until dissolved.
