Seedlip Or What To Drink When You’re Not Drinking

Say hello to Seedlip, the world’s first copper post distilled non-alcoholic spirits.

If you don’t drink, are pregnant or happen to find yourself in the role of designated driver, help is on the way in the form of a more sophisticated replacement.

Seedlip is so sure of their claim to have solved the dilemma of  ‘What to drink when you’re not drinking’ ™ that they’ve trademarked the slogan. Alcohol and hangover-free, this appealing gin replacement is made from harvested natural ingredients with no sugar or artificial ingredients and comes in two flavours. Spice 94 has wintry notes with allspice, cardamom, oak and lemon and grapefruit, while Garden 108 is on the lighter side with botanicals of hay and pea, and herbs like spearmint and rosemary.

Founder Ben Branson set up his copper distillery in a kitchen in the woods and has revived the art of 17th-century apothecaries who distilled non-alcoholic herbal remedies.   In the 1600’s Apothecaries were using small copper stills to make non-alcoholic herbal remedies. Documented in The Art of Distillation (published in London in 1651) and now re-purposed for modern-day drinkers.

On which note:  after  257 years in the spirits and beer business, Diageo has made its first investment in a non-alcoholic drinks company with Seedlip. Currently only available in England, we’re hoping to see Seedlip available here by summer.

Can bar orders for “Seedlip & Tonic” be far behind?
