Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market has been around for over 200 years – it was first labelled “Market Block” back in 1803.
Much loved by Torontonians and tourists alike, it’s a great place to shop, eat and discover hidden market gems like Upper Cut Meats.
Store Name: Upper Cut Meats
Merchant: Bob Stoyanovski
Upper Cut Meats was started by Bob in 1984, when he set out to offer the finest in meat products, aiming to be “a cut above the rest”. Known affectionately as Bobby by his many regulars, he and his brother Tom have run Upper Cut in the same location since then, presenting quality meat products to the shopping public, as well as many of the best restaurants in the city. Bob is known to say that “It’s the job of a butcher to know what he’s doing.” Thankfully, he’s at the top of his game.
At Upper Cut Meat this means ensuring quality control from the very beginning by selecting all of their meat in person, preparing and ageing it on site and delivering the delicious results to St. Lawrence Market customers in the form of perfect cuts of meat. Being one of the most respected and highly regarded butchers in the city is an art Bobby has perfected at the St. Lawrence Market over the last 32 years.
