Terrasse at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is Summer Perfection

Montreal is at it’s best in summer:  Grand Prix weekend, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Osheaga and Just for Laughs are just a few of the enticements on offer. Now you can add the Terrasse at L’ Atelier De Joel Robuchon to the list.

No. 47 on our Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list has been the talk of the town since opening. Multiple-Michelin-star chef Joël Robuchon‘s signature black-and-red decor is made for the see-and-be-seen crowd.

But it’s the precise and highly professional food prepared by chef Eric Gonzalez that’s the star of the show. Chef Gonzalez earned his first Michelin star at 27. He is a member of the prestigious Association des Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and well-known in gourmet circles in France and Québec.  At L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Éric masterfully interprets the sublime simplicity of its namesake chef’s signature cuisine with added sparkle from Quebec-ingredients like duck, snow crab and locally harvested fruits and vegetables.

The return of warm weather marks the reopening of the L’Atelier terrace (set on beautiful Île Notre-Dame lake), where Robuchon’s cooking is redefined for summer.  The seasonally influenced menu makes the most of Quebec’s abundant summertime bounty like dreamy, best-in-the-country strawberries in this refreshing Veuve Cliquot cocktail:

At $85 for a refined menu and cocktail list, plus freshly-baked bread from their in-house baker,  an evening on the terrasse sounds like our idea of summer heaven.
