Leisure Noise Cocktail
This fragrant rum-based libation from John Bunner, Operations Manager at Alo, Aloette, and Alobar in Toronto, is garnished with a bundle of herbs tied together with lemon peel—inspired by a bouquet garni used for flavouring stocks and stews.
Leisure Noise Cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 oz Havana Club 7 rum
- 1 oz Tio Pepe Fino sherry
- 1⁄3 oz crème de banane
- 1⁄2 oz simple syrup
- 3⁄4 oz lime juice
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Handful of mint, basil, cilantro, thyme
GARNISH:
- Sprig of thyme
- Remaining mint, basil, cilantro
- Strip of lemon peel
METHOD:
Reserve one sprig each of the mint, basil, cilantro, and thyme, tie together with lemon peel and set aside. Transfer all remaining ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with herb bouque.
