It’s All About Frosé This Summer
Say hello to rosé’s cool little sister, frosé.
In case you’re amongst the uninitiated frosé is frozen rosé.
Grown up slushies are no longer the terrain of the margarita, and social media accounts right now are full of icy cocktails that make perfect sense in sultry al fresco settings.
But it is frosé that has emerged as the latest drink of choice for fad-crazed Instagrammers. Just like rosé last summer, it’s making a big splash. It’s easy to understand why – it’s lovely to look at, it stays cold in the heat and is a breeze to make.
Simply mix a bold rosé (lighter, Provence-style options won’t provide enough flavor) with lemon juice and a little sugar in a blender, and freeze overnight in ice cube trays. The alcohol stops the wine from fully freezing, leaving you with a refreshing semi-frozen rosé.
So if you are looking for the perfect quaff for a summer pool party, an afternoon barbecue or just chilling, frosé may be your summer 2016 cocktail of choice.
