The Big Feastival

The Big Feastival has crossed the pond with an irresistible line-up of live music, family fun, and top chefs.

The brainchild of Jamie Oliver and former Blur bassist Alex James, the Big Feastival is a pleasant departure from the zonked-out music festivals of your youth.  This family-friendly hoedown will engage via food, music, and the ability to keep kids happily occupied.

Festival-goers can learn cooking tricks and recipes from Canada’s reigning culinary kings, including host Chuck Hughes, Rob Gentile, Vikram Vij, Matt DeMille, Derek Dammann, Michael Hunter, Danny Smiles, and Victor Barry.  There’ll even be artisanal products for sale at the Producer’s Market.

On the music front, expect Weezer and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals as headliners. Also slated:  The Strumbellas, De La Soul, Magic!, Basia Bulat, Wintersleep, Dwayne Gretzky, and Choir! Choir! Choir!.

The cool kids can rock out to performances from PAW Patrol, Splash’N Boots, and Fred Penner, and visit the intriguingly named Little Dude’s Den, Little Kitchen, Fun Fair, Farm Park and Amy’s Village Green.

There will be beards.
