Swear Jar Whisky is a damned intriguing 6-years-old Canadian whisky. Don’t be thrown off by the sweet, tangy, peppery heat, followed by notes of caramel, cinnamon ginger, and clove’s softness. Or the cute bottle. This is the real deal.  It is real, smooth, and genuinely made for whisky lovers. Yes, it’s true, it’s even won prizes like the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It’s great neat, with a stone, in an Old Fashioned or an Egg White Sour.  Or this kickass recipe with the strange bedfellow ingredient passionfruit. Opposites really do attract!


  • 2 oz of Swear jar Whisky
  • 1/2 oz of passionfruit liqueur
  • 1/2 oz of cinnamon syrup (homemade)
  • 3/4 of lemon juice
  • 1 lemon wheel

Homemade Cinnamon Syrup

  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Bark or cinnamon sticks

Shake everything with ice and strain over a large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Homemade cinnamon syrup:

Make a standard simple syrup, add bark or cinnamon sticks depending on how much you make. Let it cool and steep for a while – about 30 minutes – then strain.
