Taste Of The Six At The Shangri-La

Taste of the Six is the Toronto Shangri-La Hotel‘s dinner series with a cause.

Created to embrace and celebrate Toronto’s vibrant food scene,  Taste of the Six is a collaboration with some of Toronto’s most renowned chefs. Matt Blondin, Frankie Solarik and Jed Smith will each have one night to get creative with the Shangri-La’s executive culinary team.  The result will be an incredible prix fixe menu at Bosk Restaurant in support of Sustain Ontario.

Sustain Ontario is a province-wide, cross-sectoral alliance that promotes healthy food and farming. They provide coordinated support for productive, equitable and sustainable food and farming systems that support the health and wellbeing of all people in Ontario through collaborative action.

The first Taste of the Six dinner takes place February 23rd with Chef Matt Blondin from OMAW. Originally a native of Sudbury, Ontario, Blondin has worked in the Toronto restaurant scene since 2005.  Blondin is a partner in the Toronto-based hospitality company The Food Dudes and has helped open many acclaimed restaurants including Rasa, Pantry, and most recently OMAW. He honed his skills in the kitchens of Colborne Lane, Luce and Sen5es, and Momofuku Daishō, including a stint on the West Cost studying seafood and aquaculture.

“Taste of the Six will allow guests to experience one of a kind menu’s that truly represent our shared passion for the craft while supporting healthy food and farming through the great work of Sustain Ontario,” said Marcus Routbard, executive chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto. “I have profound respect for Chefs Blondin, Solarik and Smith, and I’m looking forward to collaborating in the kitchens with them.”
