CookUnity Flips the Script on Meal Delivery in Canada by Partnering with Canada’s A-List Chefs

Chef-branded meals often promise more than they deliver. Their prestige is alluring, but the flavour rarely follows through.

CookUnity, founded in 2015 and launching in Ontario this June with planned expansion throughout Canada set for early 2026, has flipped the script — pairing Canada’s top-tier chefs with a smarter, chef-run production model that offers subscribers a rotating menu of more than 100 restaurant-caliber meals delivered weekly.

The platform features an incredible combination of renowned chefs — like Patrick Kriss of the Michelin-starred Alo and Hemant Bhagwani of Bar Goa — as well as top caterers like Toben Kochman from Food by Design and emerging talent like Chef Sand Tsoi, the inaugural winner of Cookin and Amex’s Resident Chef program. Unlike services that merely license a name or run one-off collabs, CookUnity chefs run their own kitchen teams full-time and oversee every dish. “Every dish reflects the culinary passion and authentic execution from the chef behind it. Chefs are leading our kitchens, developing the recipes and putting real pride on the plate,” says Michael Baruch, who, alongside Morley Ivers, is leading CookUnity’s launch in Canada. “The chefs don’t worry about rent, ingredient sourcing, packaging, customer service or logistics. They just do what they do best: cook flavour-forward meals.”

Subscribers can mix and match across chef-curated menus, with options tailored to dietary goals or cravings. “We make sure every subscriber’s needs are met — whether they’re on a healthy kick this week or want to indulge — and everything in between,” says Ivers. Meals are crafted with the best ingredients, never frozen, and arrive chilled and ready to heat. “They’re made fresh, delivered within 24 hours, and are designed to taste just as good warmed up as they did when the chef plated them,” he adds.

The model isn’t just convenient; it’s sustainable, too. Meals are delivered in recyclable cooler bags that are picked up with the next delivery, and the majority of ingredients are sourced locally with care; the team ensures that all supplies align with the platform’s environmental values. CookUnity is a rare win-win-win: high-quality and delicious food in thoughtful, low-impact packaging, a business model that gives chefs space to focus on what drew them to food in the first place, and an affordable way to nourish a family’s diverse palates.
