Sky Bistro. Dinner with a View.

Banff’s majestic mountain scenery and stunning views aren’t the only reason to head for the Rocky Mountains resort this summer. The town’s culinary scene has been heating up fast, making this gorgeous destination a delicious one too.
If you’re headed west this summer, make sure to put a visit to Sky Bistro on your itinerary. Making diners feel special since 2016, Sky Bistro is located at the summit of Banff’s Sulphur Mountain at 7,510 feet above sea level and offers a 360-degree view of six breathtaking mountain ranges and the Bow Valley.

Getting to Sky Bistro is part of the experience. Hop on the dazzling Banff gondola for a sublime 8-minute ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain, and you’ll arrive at the Banff summit and Sky Bistro.

What’s on the menu?  Canadian Rocky Mountain cuisine. The ever-changing, regionally-focused menu showcases seasonal specialities–from the locally farmed game (think elk Bolognese from the lunch menu) to a naturally-raised Alberta beef brisket burger and seafood chowder that makes the most of Canadian mussels and clams, Pacific salmon and BC prawns, products from local hero Valbella Meats unique-to-the-region mushrooms and Saskatoon berries.  There are some pretty great vegetarian options like the 4 Corn Polenta with Alberta cob corn, creamed corn, corn broth, grits and Cajun popcorn. You can check out the new menus from Chef Claudius Wolf (Leading Hotels of the World) here.

The snazzy drinks menu features local ales and cocktails crafted with local ingredients. Sky Bistro is proud of its wine list, featuring picks from their WSET level 3 certified food and beverage manager Raman Sood. It’s a solid selection of Canadian wines from the Okanagan Valley BC to Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Their house wine is Niagara’s small-batch, artisanal winery Fielding Estates. Sky Bistro is proud to showcase the ever-developing Canadian wine industry to global travellers.

If you’re in Banff, it doesn’t get much better than a Sky Bistro meal accompanied by a side of gorgeous mountain vistas. To find out more, click HERE.

Insider tips: time your dinner to watch the sunset.  And don’t forget after-dinner stargazing on the observation deck.
