The British-isms run deep at this English-accented bar from Frankie Solarik (of BarChef and Netflix Drink Masters acclaim). The name is an ode to an old-money London neighbourhood. The interior is lush, leather-clad and hung with Victorian oil paintings. Cocktails showcase Solarik’s technical finesse, with house-made ingredients such as hickory-smoked vermouth and burnt butter rum. Wake up your palate with the Lady of the House, a fresh highball with menthol, lime leaf and jasmine gin. Snacks are cheeky riffs on staid classics: Crumpets are served with bone marrow, fried fish comes with potato pavé “chips,” and Scotch eggs are served on smoked hay.
