This no-frills bar set above a convenience store has killer cocktails and a serious and steadily growing wine selection. The 350-strong list includes rare treasures like 2012 Grand Cru Millésime Egly-Ouriet, assorted jeroboams and a wild selection of Madeira and sherry. Obscure by-the-glass gems get picked daily by owner Thomas Dahlgren (formerly of Von Der Fels). The 14 precisely mixed house cocktails are excellent, including the Ultra Peach Oolong Island, a seriously upgraded peach sake and oolong tea Long Island Iced Tea riff. The whisky, rum, brandy and premium gin lists are deep. A group could happily sample all night from the elevated Party Shots list (such as a Ferrari: that’s Fernet and Campari, and tastier than you think) and graze on tapas-ish snacks, like Brown Anchovy & Fancy Butter Toast.
