Why Phantom Creek Estates Should Be Your Destination Winery This Summer

May. 28 2026

Combining world-class art and award-winning wines, Phantom Creek is one of Canada’s most visually striking and immersive winery experiences.

Phantom Creek Estates enchants guests long before they’ve had a single drop of wine. Driving up to the expansive, sun-drenched property in Oliver, B.C., two large, winged statues, bent as if about to take flight, come quietly into view. Together these ethereal beings make up Pro Terra et Natura (For Earth and Nature), by celebrated Chinese sculptor Wu Ching Ru, greeting visitors with their gentle, towering presence.

Breathtaking art abounds throughout Phantom Creek. Deep within the winery’s interior—itself a museum-worthy spectacle, designed by acclaimed American architect John Taft—hangs Imperial Topaz by esteemed American glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. Suspended from the ceiling inside Phantom Creek’s private Founder’s Cellar, it is made from hundreds of hand-blown glass fibres that shimmer in the light.

These works provide a fitting backdrop for Phantom Creek’s renowned, award-winning wine. Proudly utilizing organic and biodynamic farming practices, Phantom Creek produces wines with exceptional clarity, depth, and finesse. Phantom Creek Vineyard Cuvée 2020, for example, is the only Okanagan red wine to receive a Gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024. And this summer, the notable portfolio will expand to include Sparkling Rosé and Pinot Noir.

There is no better setting in which to taste Phantom Creek’s Alsatian-style whites, Bordeaux-inspired blends, and signature Syrah than right from their Okanagan source. Phantom Creek’s light-filled tasting room is a worthy place to begin, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the winery’s own vineyards along the Black Sage Bench. Those seeking something more bespoke should not miss the two-hour Private and Grand Cru Club Tour & Tasting: guests will be led from the History Room, where they will hear about the rich winemaking legacy of the region, through to the production floor to learn about Phantom Creek’s viticulture. Lastly they’ll venture into the Founder’s Cellar for a private look at the showstopping Chihuly—all while tasting a selection of Estate and Single Vineyard wines.

For curated wine and food pairings, Phantom Creek is also hosting a Winemaker Dinner Series this summer, produced in collaboration with the Okanagan’s farm-to-table dining experience Backyard Farm. Live music fans should take note of the Friday Piano Lounge with pianist Bernie Stuckey, as well as the Sunday Music Series, which features artists like singer-songwriter Lewis Cardinal and rock duo Rebel Luv. With so much to see, hear, and taste at Phantom Creek, a visit this summer becomes a question not of if, but rather of when—and how often.
