A Canadian Born and Bred Travel Disruptor.
Sonder, a billion-dollar travel company, began when McGill student Francis Davidson needed a side hussle. He began managing classmate’s. Summer sublets, which snow-balled into a full-blown gig running short term rentals in the city. That’s how Sonder was born: a rental company that targets the sweet spot between home and hotel. The brand buys apartments, ranging from studio to six bedroom, and curates them to match the culture of the city. Each apartment – and the brand owns over 9,000 in 23 cities – pairs luxury amenities like crisp sheets and hotel-style bath products with the pricays and convinience of having your own apartment. All rooms are accessed via a touch code – no tracking down owners for keys – and staff are accesible 24/7 via text message.
