There’s a new reason to visit this bar tucked behind Barber & Co. Mike Lamantia, from nearby Bar Koukla, has taken over from the longtime bartender known as H (now at this year’s number 26 bar, XXX). Lamantia mixes up inventive house originals and bulletproof classics with a keen focus on defined, complex and slightly offbeat flavours. Case in point: The hybrid Pornstar Martinez is a serious take on a silly disco drink crossed with the Martini’s precursor, but made with passionfruit, fig leaf, aquavit, pisco and sweet vermouth.
