Perched like a treehouse in the sloped-ceiling attic of a century-old home, Roost was one of Winnipeg’s first serious craft-cocktail bars. Nearly 10 years later, the nest-like space with birch-pole accents hasn’t lost its sense of play. Whimsical libations on the seasonal menus are sprinkled with glitter, festooned with edible flowers and topped with cotton-candy clouds. In summer, the rooftop garden overlooking Little Italy’s bustling patio district fills up fast with a young, diverse crowd.
