Though Cocktail Bar opened as an overflow space for the now shuttered Black Hoof, it soon became clear that it had its own destiny to fulfill. Fifteen years later, the neighbourhood has changed, but the charms of this tiny bric-a-brac jewel box of a space remain. Hoof classics like the Absinthe Whip and the signature Manhattan are still hot serves, but there are plenty of new shiny objects to choose from, too, such as the Deep Cut, a bright, stirred agave-drink twist on the Lychee Martini.
Drink
Truth Hurts — a bright, nutty Canadian rye whisky cocktail — balances out with limoncello, passion fruit, lemon and toasted milk.

Turn back time
Daily happy hour (from 5 to 7 p.m.) rolls prices for house cocktails back to 2011 — i.e., $12 per.
