Best Bars 2026 No. 11

JJacques

Few venues code-switch so seamlessly as Jjacques does — cocktail bar-slash-oyster bar-slash-restaurant. Tucked off a quiet side street in Saint-Roch, this small speakeasy specializes in magnificent seafood platters and a cocktail menu themed around the golden age of travel. If you’re feeling première classe, take flight with the French Prestige — a top-shelf combination of half a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée Champagne, Hennessy VSOP Cognac and lemon. One order serves four. Or hit the road with the Tokyo Drift, made with Del Maguey mezcal, Lillet Blanc, melon, pineapple-peel syrup and black lime powder. The food program focuses on fresh, vibrant flavours though indulgences — caviar services, whole fried fish and oyster shots — are signatures. The intimate, elegant room turns festive on weekends.

SIP
The Rosella from the bar’s dedicated non-alcoholic section, a refreshing mix of alcohol-free vermouth, raspberry, hibiscus and lemon.

POP BOTTLES
The wine list runs deep, with more than 175 bottles.
LATE BITES
The full menu is served until midnight, with oysters and small plates available until 3 a.m. on weekends.

NEXT STOPS
Julio Taqueria for Mexican-inspired gluten-free fare or Chez Tao! for Southeast Asian street food — sister spots run by the same team as Jjacques.
