Named after the hot, dry winds that blow through the sherry-producing regions of Spain, Breanne Belitski’s, (Head Bartender at Little Oak Bar in Halifax), simple sherry-based Levante cocktail tastes like an elegant updated martini.
- 11⁄2 oz London Dry Gin
- 11⁄2 oz fino sherry
- 11⁄2 tsp simple syrup
- 1 bar spoon (1⁄8 tsp) apricot liqueur
- 3 dashes orange bitters
- Lemon peel
Combine all ingredients (excluding lemon peel) over ice in a cocktail shaker. Stir until thoroughly chilled, then strain into a Nick and Nora, coupe or martini glass. Express oil from lemon peel overtop (and discard peel).
