Every cocktail is a mini event at XXX, a tiny subterranean speakeasy underneath the Dutch-Indo Little Sister restaurant. Decked out in groovy 1970s modern Nederland design and helped by the irreverent barman known as H (formerly of Gift Shop, where he was known for flipping the bird to greet regulars), this buzzing 20-seat space offers show-stopping drinks made with outlier ingredients, such as the Ants on a Log with pisco and ants (yes, ants). There are also cocktails with rare and elusive spirits, such as a $125 Grand Cadillac Margarita. The rum selections are awesome, and the fried chicken bites are outstanding.
