Best Bars 2026 No. 37

Bar Dominion

With its Art Deco detailing and original tile floors and woodwork, Bar Dominion carries nearly a century of Montreal history. Mixologist Andrew Whibley (Cloakroom) and chef Pablo Rojas (Provisions) treasured that legacy when they reimagined the space in 2023. Interiors are a nod to the elegance of a grand hotel bar while complementing a serious gastropub address. Cocktails stand out, thanks to Whibley’s creds, as does the steadily expanding wine list. A full raw bar — oysters, shrimp, lobster and a seafood tower — anchors the menu alongside excellent pub fare, including impeccable steak frites. In summer, the 30-seat patio spills energy onto the street.
