The iconic Library Bar at Fairmont Royal York ushers in a new golden age of cocktail culture.

The illustrious Fairmont Royal York in the heart of downtown Toronto is set to reveal the rebirth of a legend. The fabled Library Bar — a cocktail institution that has played host to renowned entertainers, British royalty, world leaders and Toronto’s titans of industry — has reopened with a new look. The elegant charm that made it a true favourite has now been enchantingly reimagined with a bold and glamorous glow.

While honouring loyal patrons, the Library Bar’s culinary and cocktail offerings will further cement its reputation as the setting for Toronto’s most distinguished power luncheons and animated cocktail hours with entirely new menus.

Signature dishes by Executive Chef  JW Foster reflect the tastes of the hotel’s very first guests – 1930s travellers who favoured hearty, decadent delights – with nostalgic classics that warm the soul. Expect the likes of Beef Tartare, Steak Locke, Chicken Vol-au-Vent and Oysters Rockefeller, all re-imagined for today’s refined palates.

Celebrating timeless classics, Director of Beverage, Rus Yessenov, has called upon master distillers to custom-craft Quill vodka and gin, the latter lending subtle botanical flavours and a velvety texture to the Birdbath Martini, the Library Bar’s signature creation. With a beverage story composed of an eclectic selection of sought-after spirits, the cocktail series plays with ingredients anchored in poetic themes of world travel, romance and wonderment.
