With its sticky wooden surfaces and vintage Guinness artwork, Calgary’s beloved “Ship” may look like a standard British pub. But, since opening in 1990 it’s been the go-to hangout for crusty hipsters, soccer fans and urban pint drinkers. Live music showcases, beer-soaked bingo nights and D&D sessions create a punk rock camaraderie and a where-everybody-knows-your-name energy, even if it’s your first time in.
